MANILA – Those with transportation concerns during the enhanced community quarantine may now more conveniently reach the Department of Transportation (DOTr) after the addition of new hotlines free-to-call for all PLDT and Smart subscribers.

In a Facebook post, the DOTr, in partnership with PLDT and Smart Communications, launched hotline numbers 8405 5517 to 5524 for inquiries on land, air, or maritime transportation.

I-dial lamang ang 8405-5517 to 5524 kung may katanungan ukol sa transportasyon. Bukas ang aming hotline mula alas-7 ng umaga hanggang alas-7 ng gabi, Lunes hanggang Linggo (Dial our numbers for any transportation concerns. We’re open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays to Sundays),” the DOTr said.

It clarified that on weekends, its hotlines are only open for calls from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. but its mobile numbers will receive text messages 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Since its launch on Thursday, the DOTr said they have received the concerns and gave assistance to a total of 646 callers.

The previous hotline numbers of the DOTr remain active but regular charges will apply for all landline and mobile users.

For inquiries on land transportation, the DOTr’s legacy hotline is (02) 790 2387 and (02) 7980 2390 while mobile users may call or text (0917) 876 8535 and (0917) 876 8523.

For maritime transportation or concerns with port operations, the DOTr’s previous hotline numbers are (02) 7980 2394 and mobile at (0917) 876 8594.

The Department of Health also launched its own Coronavirus disease 2019 hotline last week and is available 24 hours a day—02 894 COVID (02 894 26843) and 1555 for Smart mobile users. (PNA)
