DAVAO CITY – Three more patients under investigation (PUIs) tested positive for the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In a statement on Monday, the Department of Health in Davao Region (DOH-11) said this brings a total of six positive cases in Region 11, one of whom has fully recovered and was discharged.

DOH-11 said the three PUIs--PH442, PH443, and PH444--have been "admitted to Covid-19 facilities in the region and in stable condition."

PH4442 is a 28-year-old male who has a history of travel to Manila while PH443 is a 32-year-old male who recently traveled to Manila.

PH444, on the other hand, is a 50-year-old male who has travel history to Manila, Palawan, and Cebu.

DOH surveillance teams and Davao City Health Office (CHO) personnel have been deployed to do extensive information-gathering and contact tracing on all persons who interacted with the patients.

“The health team is already coordinating with the concerned airline and with other agencies to expedite the contact tracing,” DOH-11 said.

Meanwhile, DOH-11 said the other Covid-19 positive persons--PH262 and PH26--who are currently admitted at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) are in stable condition.

Earlier, DOH-11 said region's first confirmed Covid-19 patient (PH130) has already recovered and has been discharged from the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Tagum City on Monday.

DOH-11 said the region currently has six PUI deaths, two of whom already died while waiting for their tests to arrive. The other PUIs are still waiting for their test results.

As of Tuesday, the region has a total of 127 PUIs, 62 of whom are currently admitted and 59 have been discharged.

A total of 9,271 persons are under monitoring, of whom 2,503 have been cleared and 6,767 are under observation. (PNA)
