ILOILO CITY – The Department of Health in Western Visayas (Region 6) on Tuesday confirmed two more positive coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients, bringing to four the total cases in the region.

In a press conference, regional director Marlyn Convocar said the third case is a 61-year-old female from Iloilo City with a history of exposure and had traveled to Manila. She showed symptoms of fever, cough, and diarrhea.

The fourth case is a 45-year-old male from Jamindan, Capiz with a travel history to Manila. He is diabetic and on some maintenance medication.

Both patients are in hospitals and “reported to be in stable condition”.

“The DOH-CHD (Center for Health Development) 6 has already informed the concerned local government units and the health facilities relative to these new cases. The DOH-CHD is advising who may have close contact with the positive cases to fully cooperate in contact tracing activities,” Convocar said.

The first two cases were from Bacolod City and Guimbal, Iloilo. Both are also in stable condition, according to health officials. (PNA)
