COTABATO CITY – Power supply in Maguindanao will remain stable round-the-clock amid the coronavirus disease health crisis gripping the province and the rest of the country, the Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (Magelco) said Wednesday.

Ashary Maongco, Magelco general manager, said all employees are in their respective work stations to ensure that power supply will continue to flow to the homes of all cooperative member-consumers.

Maongco said a Magelco task force was created to provide a stable and reliable power supply to all of its clients.

“In this time of public health crisis, your Magelco is with you 24/7,” he said.

Magelco front liners are staying in substations and designated areas to see to it that clearing will be done strictly to avoid brownouts and also to respond to problems anytime, he said.

He said a response team of four-line trucks is also stationed at Magelco headquarters to augment linemen in the field.

Maongco said all Magelco substations – the 10 mega volt amp (MVA) in the town of Ampatuan; the 5 MVA in Barangay Salbu, Datu Saudi; the 5 MVA in Barangay Capiton, Datu Odin Sinsuat; and the 10 MVA in Sultan Kudarat municipality - are running smoothly.

“Good to share with you that no more load manual dropping for Magelco although the water in Lake Lanao is rescinding because of the drought,” Maongco said.

He added that the province is considered a priority dispatch from the operations of the Agus complex in Lanao del Sur through an order by the Department of Energy.

He appealed to consumers that any eventual interruption in the distribution or lateral lines or transformers to immediately communicate with Magelco's main office. (PNA)
