Covid-19 positive cases in Bulacan climb to 16

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Six more patients under investigation (PUIs) were tested positive for new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the province, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 16.

The Provincial Health Office-Public Health said on Friday out of the six new cases, two already died, a 65-year-old, male from City of San Jose Del Monte, and a 68-year-old female from Marilao. Their deaths brought to five the total number of fatalities in the province.

The other four new positive Covid-19 cases are 57-year-old and 59-year old, both males from here, a 40-year- old female from Pandi, and one from Meycauayan City.

Patricia Alvaro, health education and promotion officer of PHO, said as of Friday, there are 286 active PUIs. A total of 61 PUIs were already cleared.

Alvaro added that the number of active persons under monitoring (PUMs) is 1,362 while 728 were already cleared.

The provincial government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), has started distributing relief goods.

The PSWDO targeted to distribute a total of 83,805 packs of relief goods to 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) and Listahanan beneficiaries all over the province. (PNA)
