LEGAZPI CITY — A 60-year old female from Albay province was the fourth person who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) a day after three persons in Bicol were confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) in the region to be infected with the virus.

Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH regional director and chair of Bicol Interagency Task Force (IATF), in a statement on Saturday said that the Covid-19 patient arrived in Albay from Manila last March 10.

On March 20, she submitted herself for a checkup after experiencing symptoms of the disease at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH).

The Covid Bicol tracker indicated that of the four reported cases as of March 28, Albay has three and Camarines Sur, one.

"The Covid tracker so far said there are 17 persons under investigation admitted for Covid examination of which nine tested negative and eight PUI test results were still pending with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Manila," Vera said.

The data also showed that as of Saturday, there were 113,909 persons under monitoring (PUMs) in Bicol and of them, 13,329 have completed their 14-day quarantine period. (PNA)
