MANILA – Fast-food chains under the Jollibee Group donated 3,222 food packs to military troops manning quarantine checkpoints.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines' Joint Task Force - National Capital Region (AFP JTF-NCR) said the group, through its 'FoodAID' drive, distributed food packs to different quarantine stations and military camps in Metro Manila on April 5 and 6.

“We appreciate your dedication and sacrifices in helping fight Covid-19. Maraming salamat po!” said the group, which consists of Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King.

Public affairs officer of the JTF-NCR, 1st Lt. Arrianne Bichara, thanked the fast-food giant for its generosity.

"On behalf of our Commander, (Brig. Gen. Alex Luna), we would like to thank Jollibee Group FoodAID, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King for acknowledging and appreciating the efforts and sacrifices of the front-line heroes of the Joint Task Force - NCR and other AFP units battling against the spread of Covid-19 in NCR," Bichara said in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

She added that these kind gestures uplift the morale of the troops.

"Rest assured the Joint Task Force - NCR will continue to serve the people and secure the state, whether against enemies of the state, natural or man-made disasters or any health threat against the Filipino," she added. (PNA)
