CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga – A Covid-19 central hotline was launched here on Tuesday that will serve towns and cities contiguous to Clark as a way to help manage the spread of the new coronavirus disease.

The Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) tapped TaskUs, a customer experience company operating at Clark Global City.

Clark’s emergency hotline #1232 (#1CDC) will receive calls from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. It will have a dedicated prompt that will exclusively cater to Covid-19 concerns.

As callers press "1" after hearing the main voice prompt, calls will be received and entertained by hotline operators who are capable of answering basic inquiries regarding Covid-19.

They may, in turn, direct the callers to nurses and medical staff at CDC Health and Sanitation Division (HSD) to address more specific concerns.

The HSD staff will be on hand to help assess medical conditions of persons having flu-like symptoms.

CDC assistant vice president Chito Dychioco, Information Technology Division head, said the centralized helpline for Covid-19 responses is essential and is designed to augment the existing hotlines of local communities.

Dr. Maria Clemencita Dobles, HSD head, said this is part of the measures in Clark to help manage possible risks and threats by having medical professionals handle suspected Covid-19 cases in Pampanga and Tarlac.

Aside from providing immediate emergency response, the project also aims to lessen people going out of their homes following the announcement of enhanced community quarantine in Luzon. (PNA)
