MANILA – Authorities seized on Tuesday night PHP400,000 worth of shabu from two suspects who used a marked vehicle of another local government unit in Rizal in a buy-bust in Binangonan town.

Based on the police report, Maj. Lory Tarrazona, chief of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A, identified the suspects as Ronald Jay Bernardo, 29; and Frederick Garillo, 45.

Another suspect, a certain alias 'Randy' remains at-large after evading arrest.

The suspects used a shuttle of the San Mateo, Rizal municipal government (BO N939) in delivering the contraband during the operation by the RDEU and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Binangonan Police on the Manila East Road in Barangay Macamot at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The arrest of the suspects stemmed from the intelligence information gathering from the community, Tarrazona said.

She said the suspects are considered as drug personalities based on previous intelligence reports.

She added that their arrest will result in a reduction of illegal drug supply in the province.

Case of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
