MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Friday said it will continue all flights to support the government's campaign to contain the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak.

Air Force spokesperson Maj. Aristides Galang made the remark when asked whether PAF efforts to airlift and transport personal protection equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies are sustainable.

While such flights are under the jurisdiction of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, he said PAF assistance to this initiative will continue.

"Basta tuloy tuloy (ang) lipad ng PAF (PAF flights will continue)," Galang said in a message to the Philippine News Agency.

Earlier, the PAF said its aircraft and personnel performed significant accomplishments in support of the government's efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

This includes the deployment of its various aircraft for the airlifting of assorted medical supplies, PPE, and other needed items in various parts of the country.

Aircraft tapped for such missions include the Lockheed C-130, Airbus Military C-295, and NC-212i cargo planes along with its UH-IH helicopters and SF-260 trainer aircraft. (PNA)
