MANILA – The results of the adjudication process on the initial 357 police officers allegedly involved in illegal drugs have been submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte, the country's top cop said Wednesday.
“(The) 357, it was already submitted to the President. We are waiting for (response), (of course), the President is very busy right now,” Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Archie Gamboa, told reporters in a press conference after the turnover ceremony of the We Heal As One Center in Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Gamboa said they have recommended the delisting of some police officers from the narco-list while some were referred for case build-up.
Gamboa revealed that there is another list of narco cops coming up.
On Tuesday, Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan, PNP deputy chief for administration and chairperson of national adjudication board of the PNP, said they have started adjudication of a second batch consisting of 352 police officers, 83 of whom are under their National Watchlist on Illegal Drugs (NWID), while 269 are under their Counter Intel Watchlist (CIW).
Cascolan said the board targets to finish the adjudication process for these cops by the first week of June.
The narco-list is a consolidation of intelligence and other reports from law enforcement agencies and still needs to be verified and validated. The list also includes local officials and judges as well as other personalities. (PNA)
