ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) has organized a stress debriefing management seminar to policemen deployed as front-liners in quarantine checkpoints in this city.

The seminar is being conducted at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan that houses the PRO-9 headquarters in Barangay Mercedes here, said Brig. Gen. Froilan Quidilla, PRO-9 director.

Quidilla said the stress debriefing aims to assess the psychological status of each personnel and institute measures that would enable them to cope up with the stress and challenges they encounter during their tour of duty.

“The prolonged exposure of our personnel in the different quarantine checkpoints and control points all over the region will certainly affect the behavior of our front-liners and inhibit them to perform their respective task properly,” Quidilla said.

He said the activity aims to ensure the health and welfare of the personnel, especially the front-liners, given their constant interactions with the public, some of whom may be carriers of the virus.

The session is done in coordination with the psychologist and other personnel of the Regional Health Service-9.

Quidilla said each batch of policemen will undergo a one-day stress debriefing seminar after completion of tour of duty. (PNA)
