LUCENA CITY – The Integrated Provincial Health Office and the City Health Office officially declared, through the city information office, the recovery of the last four of the 29 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients from various villages here.

The province also recorded no new confirmed case of Covid-19 since Monday.

However, there are still 15 coronavirus patients admitted at the Quezon Medical Center in Barangay 11 here, all of whom are from other areas in Quezon, and included in the province's total of 81 recorded cases, including the 29 cases here.

From the 17 municipalities, cases are now down to 10, with 58 recoveries, and eight deaths.

Lucena Mayor Roderick Alcala, though happy with the present zero active case situation, told the residents not to be complacent and continue to comply with the safety measures to totally eliminate the threat of Covid-19, especially to the most susceptible sectors such as the elderly, people with underlying medical conditions, pregnant women, and children.

He attributed the positive development to the discipline and cooperation of his constituents who showed absolute compliance with the guidelines set by the local authorities.

Alcala also expressed hope the zero active coronavirus case will be maintained until the threat of the dreaded disease is totally eradicated. (PNA)
