P535-K shabu seized in Bicol drug ops

LEGAZPI CITY – Over PHP500,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized on Thursday afternoon from alleged illegal drug peddlers in separate drug stings in Libmanan town and Naga City in Camarines Sur province.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, on Friday said Sias Lyndon a.k.a. "Do", 51, a farmer; and Ernesto Rocah a.k.a. "Erneng", 54, a pedicab driver, both from Libmanan town, were caught selling suspected shabu during a drug operation in Barangay Puro Batia, Libmanan town.

"Recovered from the drug operation was a knot-tied plastic bag with shabu weighing 50 grams, with a street value of PHP340,000," she said.

In Naga City, Rudel Bal, 33, of Barangay Dayangdang, and Joan Elaine Buenaobra of Barangay San Felipe, were caught selling PHP25,000 worth of suspected shabu to an undercover police operative in a drug operation in Barangay Cararayan around 5:15 p.m., said Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson.

Police operatives also recovered from the suspects six plastic sachets of shabu worth PHP170,000.

"The suspects were detained and are facing charges for illegal drug possession and peddling," Bongon said. (PNA)
