COTABATO CITY – Authorities arrested a top female drug personality in North Cotabato province during a buy-bust operation in Makilala town on Wednesday, a police official said.

Lt. Col. Lino Capellan, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office-12, identified the arrested suspect as Joellyn Tan Monleon, 25, of Barangay Poblacion, Makilala, who was arrested by the local police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a drug sting inside her house at the poblacion area.

“As soon as the exchange between Monleon and the poseur-buyer transpired, the arresting team pounced on the suspect,” Capellan said.

Seized from the suspect were the PHP1,000 marked money and five sachets of small and mid-sized sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated total street value of PHP10,000.

Capellan said the police and PDEA have long been monitoring the activities of Monleon before the entrapment operation.

“Monleon topped the police and PDEA’s inter-agency drug information database list in North Cotabato,” he added.  She has bee charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
