BUTUAN CITY – A buy-bust operation Friday resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect and the confiscation of suspected shabu weighing around 13 grams with an estimated street value of PHP88,400, police said.
Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., Police Regional Office-13 director, said Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Caraga Region (PDEA-13) personnel arrested Jeffrey C. Suberre in a buy-bust operation in Montalban Street here.
Esquivel said Suberre is listed in the top 10 regional drug personalities and has been the subject of surveillance by the police and PDEA for several weeks.
Operatives also seized from the suspect a cellular phone, a motorcycle, and other pieces of evidence, Esquivel said.
“Based on our investigation, the suspect is selling illegal drugs on a large scale to his customers,” the PRO-13 director said.
He said the suspect, who will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is now under the custody of Butuan City Police Station 1.
“There is strength in working together against the scourge of drug menace. This war on drugs hinges on multi-sectoral cooperation,” Esquivel said, as he lauded the continued support of the community to the police in the campaign against illegal drugs. (PNA)
