ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested a businessman and a teenage high-value-target (HVT) drug personality in separate buy-busts in the region, an official said Saturday.

Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the suspects as Ian Iso Lopez, 34, a businessman; and Kimlee Raguine Tan, 18, a target-listed drug personality.

Galvez said Lopez was arrested in a buy-bust around 2:30 a.m. Friday in Barangay Tolon, Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte.

Lopez yielded some PHP50,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 14 heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP300 marked money, police said.

Tan, meanwhile, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Upper Campo Islam, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from Tan were some PHP6,800 worth of suspected shabu, PHP1,000 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are set to be filed against the suspects who were temporarily detained. (PNA)
