DOH-Bicol conducts contact tracing for new Covid-19 case

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol is calling on all passengers of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 325 on June 18 to immediately coordinate with their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) after a passenger was confirmed positive of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH-Bicol regional director, on Tuesday said a 56-year-old male from this city is the region's 90th confirmed case of Covid-19, with a travel history from Muntinlupa in Metro Manila.]

“Bicol#90 arrived in Legazpi City via plane and was seated at 15C. If you happen to be on the same flight as Bicol#90, kindly inform immediately your BHERT or the personnel at the quarantine facility where you are currently quarantined,” he said.

Vera also advised the public to strictly follow community quarantine procedures as well as precautionary measures against Covid-19 including proper hand washing, social distancing, cough etiquette, disinfection of commonly used objects, use of face mask, leading a healthy lifestyle, and staying home unless accessing necessities or going to work.

Bicol, to date, has 15 active cases. (PNA)
