PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Backed by the police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested two suspected big-time drug dealers and seized some PHP3.4 million worth of illegal drugs here.

PDEA-Zamboanga del Sur identified the suspects as Macacuna Ali Gunting, 53; and his son, Bolkia Asum, 27.

The suspects were nabbed in a buy-bust around 2 p.m. Wednesday at the parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay San Pedro, the agency said.

“Onboard a white SUV (sports utility vehicle) from Lanao del Sur, (the suspects) agreed to meet with the buyer at the parking area of a mall in Pagadian City,” PDEA said.

Seized from the suspects were some PHP3.4 million worth of suspected shabu packed in four big plastic sachets and six bundles of PHP1,000 boodle money.

PDEA said the suspects operated in the areas of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Cities and in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Zamboanga del Sur.
