MANILA – Five Germany companies are looking into business opportunities in the country through a virtual business-to-business (B2B) networking from June 30 to July 1.

According to the German-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), German firms that will be participating the online B2B meetings are Ecoligo GmbH, which provides financing and delivering solar projects; and Enerbar UG, which offers energy supply services for residential and commercial buildings including solar energy and energy storage system.

Material Innovative Gesellschaft mbH, a manufacturer of energy-saving and environment-improving building materials; Meteocontrol GmbH, a provider of professional monitoring and control systems for photovoltaic power plants and solar parks; and Viessmann GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of heating, industrial, and refrigeration systems are also looking for partnerships here.

The B2B networking is part of GPCCI’s German Energy Week which discussion aims to focus on energy efficiency, management, and operations in the country.

“The Philippines offers interesting opportunities for improved energy conservation solutions and green sources of power generation,” GPCCI said.

In 2019, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act promoting the development and utilization of efficient energy technologies and systems.

During the 5th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency of the International Energy Agency last week, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said energy efficiency plays a major role in the country’s quest for self-sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint.

He added energy efficiency can also play a vital role in a post-Covid-19 world. (PNA)
