3 nabbed, P6.8-M shabu seized in Bulacan buy-bust

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Authorities arrested three drug suspects including two Chinese nationals and seized from them some PHP6.8 million worth of shabu in a joint buy-bust operation of anti-narcotics operatives in Barangay Caysio, Santa Maria, this province on Tuesday.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, on Wednesday identified the arrested suspects as Tony Ang, 43, of Block 1, Lot 7, Camella Prominenza, Barangay Pagala, Baliuag; Feiyue Shi, 54, and Elgine Monzaga, 23, both residents of Block 78, Lot 3-4, St. Mary Village 5A, Northville, Barangay Caysio, Santa Maria.

Cajipe said operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office-NCR Eastern District Office (EDO) and PDEA-Bulacan, in coordination with the Sta. Maria police, conducted the buy-bust operation at the residence of the two suspects in Santa Maria around 11:50 p.m.

Seized from them were at least one kilogram of shabu worth PHP6.8 million, one unit Cherry Mobile cellphone, one unit Toyota Camry vehicle, a Bureau of Internal Revenue identification card, and passports.

"The arrested suspects, together with the confiscated evidence were taken into custody by the PDEA personnel for proper disposition," Cajipe said.

The suspects will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
