More than 19.5M enrollees for upcoming school year: DepEd

MANILA – Some 19,534,836 learners so far have enrolled in public and private schools nationwide for the incoming school year which begins next month.

Data from the Department of Education showed that there are 18,543,788 learners enrolled in public schools and 968,154 in private schools. The rest are from local colleges and state universities offering basic education programs.

Region 4A (Calabarzon) logged the highest number of enrollees at 2,606,200 while the Cordillera Administrative Region registered the lowest at 315,408.

The enrollees are from kindergarten to senior high school, as well as learners with disabilities and those taking the alternative learning system. (PNA)
