ZAMBOANGA CITY – The local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has issued new guidelines after the city reverted to general community quarantine (GCQ) effective Thursday.

The local IATF said the new executive order will prescribe the guidelines for the second GCQ. The city has been under GCQ for 45 days before shifting to modified GCQ (MGCQ) on July 1 until July 15.

As part of the new quarantine classification, the task force said only authorized holders of quarantine pass (QP) will be allowed to access to essential goods effective Thursday.

QP “A” holders can go out of their homes to access essential goods on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

QP “B” holders, meanwhile, can access essential goods on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The task force said the Sunday lockdown will be reimposed as no quarantine passes will be honored during that day except for emergency cases.

However, the motorcycle back riding among couples living in one household will continue as well as the 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew hours will remain.

The task force said mass gatherings will be limited only to 10 to 30 percent of the venue’s capacity, as it has ordered the police and barangays to apprehend all violators based on existing regulations.

“The public is advised anew to strictly comply with quarantine guidelines and help curb the transmission of Covid-19,” the task force said.

The national IATF has placed the city under GCQ as the Covid-19 cases continue to soar the past days.

Confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city rose to 342 as of July 15. (PNA)
