ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) and two private firms have forged an agreement to provide a livelihood to island communities in the region.
Maj. Arvin John Encinas, the Westmincom spokesperson, identified the command's private partners as Mask-Agri Marine Producer Cooperative, represented by chairman Jaythoon Sahibul, and Lourdes Fishing Company Inc., represented by its general manager Perfecto Mendoza III.
Encinas said the representatives of the two companies signed an agreement with Westmincom on Friday for a partnership to improve the socio-economic development in the island communities within the Westmincom area of responsibility.
“This noble endeavor gives us an opportunity to reach out to our fellow Filipinos in the far-flung communities especially during this time of turmoil,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, Westmincom chief, who witnessed the signing of the enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource of the command.
“I do believe that with this joint effort, a better future is at hand for the coming generations,” Sobejana added. (PNA)
