6 nabbed in Zamboanga Sibugay 'drug den'

ZAMBOANGA CITY--A team of police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) personnel have arrested six people inside an alleged drug den in the Zamboanga Sibugay town of Ipil, an official said Monday.

Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified two of the six arrested "drug den maintainers" as Amman Ontong Mocaddam, 24; and, Almeradz Daud Mohamod, 15.

On the other hand, the four "drug den visitors" were identified as Reynaldo Lumansoy Limo Jr., 40; Eugene Vidal Dela Peña, 24; Richard Garcia Evangelito, 47; and Norenel Mahomitano Cagas, 24.

Cambay said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Upper Pangi, Ipil municipality.

Police said the suspects yielded some 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP136,000, two motorcycles, PHP2,790 cash of different denominations believed to be proceeds from illegal drug trade, 29 bills of PHP1,000 boodle money topped with one genuine PHP500, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Cambay said the suspects were placed under the temporary custody of the Ipil Municipal Police Station for the filing of formal charges. (PNA)
