GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A target-listed drug pusher was killed while 19 sachets of suspected shabu were recovered in an entrapment operation in a village here on Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Col. Lino Capellan, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-12, identified the slain suspect as Bimbo Datumangoda Solaiman alias “Dats,” who was listed as a notorious pusher and included in the city’s drug watchlist.

He said Solaiman sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP500 to an undercover operative of the PRO-12’s enforcement unit during a buy-bust around 12:20 p.m. near his house in Purok 11-A, Block 4, Barangay Fatima.

The operation was backed by elements from the Regional Investigation Division-12 and city police Station 5, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 12.

During the transaction, Capellan said the suspect drew a handgun and opened fire after reportedly noticing that he was dealing with police operatives.

He said the latter then boarded his motorcycle and sped off but pursuing operatives later cornered him at the vicinity of Purok La Vista, Barangay Tambler.

A brief encounter ensued that resulted to the fatal wounding of the suspect, who was declared dead upon arrival in a nearby hospital.

Recovered from the suspect was a .38-caliber revolver with live ammunition, a black Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle, PHP500 marked bill, and a green case containing 19 sachets of suspected shabu.

“His (drug-pushing) activities are quite extensive based on the recovered evidences,” Capellan cited in a report released on Wednesday afternoon.

He said the recovered shabu and other pieces of evidence were sent to the regional crime laboratory for examination and valuation. (PNA
