BACOLOD CITY – Two personnel of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the hospital management said on Wednesday.

In Advisory No. 13, Dr. Julius Drilon, medical center chief II, said following the development, they have implemented all safety and precautionary measures such as terminal cleaning and disinfection of the hospital wards.

Drilon said the two employees were isolated even before the release of their results, and their close contacts have already been identified.

“We conducted risk stratification and isolated those contacts classified as medium to high risk. The hospital is still conducting intensive contact tracing for other possible contacts,” he added.

Drilon appealed to the public to remain calm and cautious amid the health crisis.

“Follow all health advisories and protocols to ensure the welfare, safety, and protection of the public,” he said.

Last month, the CLMMRH, a Department of Health (DOH)-managed hospital, in partnership with the city government, unveiled the first hospital-based Level 3 testing laboratory in the country to strengthen the local response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Drilon also issued two other advisories related to the operations of two hospital departments.

Advisory No. 12 stated that the in-patient services of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology have been suspended until August 7 for disinfection of the wards, and services will resume on August 8.

However, the department’s outpatient services will operate during the said period.

Meanwhile, Advisory No. 11 announced the new Out-Patient Department consultation schedule and guidelines.

Cut-off time for patients from Bacolod will be accepted only until 8 a.m. while those from outside the city, only until 9 a.m.

Tertiary cases and referrals from local health centers will be prioritized for consultation while primary care patients from Bacolod will be referred to the barangay health centers.

Patients from Bacolod’s “hot list” areas with minimal symptoms related to Covid-19 will be referred to the outpatient respiratory center at the Bacolod Arts, Youth, and Sports Center for consultation. (PNA)
