COTABATO CITY – All government employees of Maguindanao working at the provincial Capitol yielded negative to illegal drug use.

Maguindanao Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu ordered Monday the surprise drug test on all employees working at the provincial capitol in Buluan town.

The drug testing is in accordance with the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Mangudadatu said.

“This is also to ensure a drug-free workplace and that all government servants working directly under me are drug-free,” the governor said in a statement.

Mangudadatu said she personally supervised the conduct of sampling of specimens and detailed police personnel inside and outside the comfort rooms where urine samples were taken to avoid possible cheating. (PNA)
