COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents arrested five drug suspects and seized PHP102,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in an alleged drug den here Thursday, an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) said.

Juvenal Azurin, PDEA-BARMM director, identified the arrested individuals following the raid in Barangay Poblacion 2 as Theng Rakim, the alleged drug den maintainer, Nasser Eto, Radjid Dakula, Ameril Kansi, and Jayrald Sabile.

Azurin said the main target of the 4 p.m. operation was Basco Rakim, an incumbent village councilor in the area, who managed to elude arrest.

“We will get him in time,” he told reporters on Friday.

Confiscated in the alleged drug den were 13 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams, the buy-bust money, assorted drug paraphernalia, and other pieces of evidence.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against the suspects, who were detained at the PDEA-BARMM custodial facility here. (PNA)
