5 nabbed, P13.6-M ‘shabu’ seized in Lanao Sur buy-bust

COTABATO CITY – Authorities arrested five suspects and seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP13.6 million in a sting operation in Malabang, Lanao del Sur on Friday.

The suspects, identified as Charly Calis Talib, Radal Jadin Naming, Aljun Saribon, Albasir Igo Bakundo, and Michael Embor Gamuranao, all residents of Barangay Bago Ingud in Malabang, were arrested in the operation at about 4:30 p.m. 

“This group is long involved in large-scale illegal drug activities in Marawi City and Lanao del Sur,” Director Juvenal Azurin of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) said in a statement.

Azurin added that the same group supplies illegal drugs to the cities of Cotabato and Cagayan de Oro, including Cavite and Manila in Luzon.

Seized from the suspects were 2 kg. of suspected shabu, PHP1.5 million in “boodle money”, various drug paraphernalia, four mobile phones, personal belongings, and a motorcycle.

The suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
