ZAMBOANGA CITY--Policemen have arrested a suspected “big time” drug personality and seized some PHP130,000 worth of illegal drugs in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Monday.
Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the arrested suspect as Jeric Mangubat Obina, 31, of Baliangao, Misamis Occidental.
Cambay said Obina was arrested by undercover policemen during a buy-bust operation around 10 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Obina yielded some PHP130,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in nine transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets, illegal drug paraphernalia, and marked money, police said.
Cambay said the buy-bust operation was launched following days of surveillance on the illegal drug trade activity of the suspect in Dipolog City.
He said Obina was placed under the custody of Dipolog City Police Station to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
