DAGUPAN CITY – A 49-year-old female from Barangay Poblacion Oeste and a 30-year-old male from Barangay Pantal, both front-liners, are the latest confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) here.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the city’s Public Information Office (PIO), Dr. Ophelia Rivera, Dagupan City focal person for Covid-19, said the two front-liners have tested positive on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in the city to nine.

“They are both asymptomatic,” she said.

The female, an employee of a government facility, underwent a swab testing on Aug. 29 at the Lingayen District Hospital.

The male patient was deployed in the National Capital Region (NCR) last August 13, where he first tested negative. He went on duty in a hospital until August 28 and underwent another swab test two days later which turned out positive.

He is currently confined in an isolation facility in Metro Manila, it added.

While he has listed his city address and current residence in Barangay Pantal, he hails from Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, the statement reads. (PNA)
