Tarlac logs 7 new Covid-19 cases, 6 recoveries

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force reported on Friday seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in this province, bringing the total tally to 209.

The task force said the new cases include a 37-year-old female teacher from Barangay Padapada, Sta. Ignacia, who had a history of exposure to a Covid-19 positive patient.

“She developed colds on August 31 and was swabbed by the Tarlac-Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit on September 1 in which, positive result came out on September 3. The patient is for assessment at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital,” the task force said.

A 25-year-old government employee from San Vicente is also among the new Covid-19 patients, with history of exposure to a confirmed case.

“He underwent swab test on September 1 in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga and positive result came out on September 3. The patient is for assessment at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital,” the task force said.

The other new patients are three elderlies -- a 71-year-old male from Barangay Poblacion here, an 86-year-old male from Barangay Balbaloto, Victoria town; and a 61-year-old female from Barangay Abagon, Gerona.

The remaining two new cases are a 17-year-old female from Barangay San Jose, Concepcion; and a 50-year-old female from Barangay San Miguel here.

As a result, there are now 76 active Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the task force said six patients recovered from the dreaded disease, bringing the total recoveries to 124.

The new recoveries are two from this city, one each from Anao, Paniqui, Sta. Ignacia, and Bamban.

The total number of deaths remained at 12. (PNA)
