MANILA – Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.
In its 5 a.m. forecast, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon affects the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Light to strong winds will blow all over the country while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said typhoon Kristine (Haishen) is at 1,140 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 175 km per hour with gustiness up to 215 km per hour.
It added the typhoon, which left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 6 p.m. on Saturday, is moving northward at 20 km/h.
Sunday’s minimum temperature is 27.3°C while the maximum temperature is 34.1°C, PAGASA said. (PNA)
