DAVAO CITY – More than 100 victims of a fire here got food packs from the office of 1st District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte on Tuesday afternoon.
At least 129 families or 350 individuals in Barangay Leon Garcia, Agdao District, were affected after some 60 houses and seven classrooms of a public school in the area were razed by a fire on September 3.
The lawmaker’s office distributed food packs and face masks.
Lita Impis, Barangay Leon Garcia village chairperson, said of the 129 families, 66 were house owners, 14 were renters, 34 were sharers, 10 were boarders, and 15 were absentee house owners.
All victims are temporarily sheltered at Leon Garcia Elementary School, Impis said.
“I thanked the first congressional district office, especially to Congressman Pulong for the response to the needs of the affected families,” she said.
Duterte's congressional office has regularly been providing assistance not only to its constituents but also to other residents who have been hit by natural and man-made disasters. (PNA)
