COTABATO CITY – Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 12 (PDEA-12) collared a high-value target and seized from him PHP353,600 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Banisilan, North Cotabato on Sunday.

PDEA-12 identified the arrested suspect as Hasanor Moctar, 29, of Barangay Manilagro, Wao, Lanao del Sur.

Kath Abad, speaking for PDEA-12, said the suspect also claimed to be a member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

She said the PDEA has long been monitoring Moctar on his illegal drug activities in the Banisilan area.

Moctar yielded some 52 grams of shabu with a street value of PHP353,600, a document associating himself with the MILF, and the marked money, PDEA-12 said.

PDEA agents, backed by Banisilan policemen, pounced on Moctar after an exchange took place between him and the poseur-buyer at a secluded section of Barangay Poblacion around 11:45 a.m.

Abad said charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against the suspect, who is now detained at the Banisilan police custodial facility. (PNA)
