DAVAO CITY – The office of  Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte extended assistance to victims of a fire in Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Agdao here Tuesday afternoon.

Although the area falls outside of the lawmaker's district, the lawmaker saw the urgency of providing assistance consisting of food packs and cash to some 120 affected individuals, said Jay Villarica, the lawmaker's chief of staff.

“Though the area belongs to the second congressional district, Rep. Paolo Duterte is known to help people in distress even beyond his district,” Villarica told the Philippine News Agency Wednesday.

Villarica noted that Duterte's congressional office has regularly been sending assistance not only to the lawmaker's constituents but also to other residents who have been hit by natural and man-made disasters.
