COTABATO CITY – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents arrested three suspects and seized some PHP3.4-million worth of suspected shabu in Pikit, North Cotabato Thursday afternoon.

Director Juvenal Azurin of PDEA-BARM said the operation was jointly conducted with the PDEA-Region 12 and the Army’s 90th Infantry Battalion around 4 p.m. at Barangay Poblacion.

Arrested were Fahad Abdullah, Rahib Malingco, and Maribel Carillo, all transients in the area.

“They were immediately nabbed after dealing with a poseur-buyer,” Azurin said.

Seized from the three were 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4-million, a .45-caliber pistol, a motorcycle, and the buy-bust money, he said.

“The suspects have been under surveillance for a month as they were involved in the large-scale illegal drug trade in the province,” Azurin said.

The suspects are under the custody of the Pikit municipal police office and appropriate charges are being readied against them, the PDEA official said. (PNA)
