Vicelles to fight Lacar in Cebu

DAVAO CITY – Undefeated Mark “Thunder” Vicelles of Sultan Kudarat will fight Junuel “Artroboy” Lacar of General Santos City on Oct. 7 under the Omega Boxing Promotion in Cebu City.

The 24-year-old Vicelles (11W-0L-1D, 5KO) won the WBA Asia South light flyweight title by a majority decision over Jesse Espinas of Misamis Occidental last July 6, 2019, in Liloan, Cebu.

Vicelles earlier stopped Robert Onggocan of Zamboanga in the 5th round on April 5 in Mandaue City to win the vacant Visayas Professional Boxing Association light flyweight title.

Lacar (8W-5L-3D, 6KO), on the other hand, stopped Romeo Tenorio of General Santos City in the 4th round to win the Luzon Professional Boxing Association flyweight title last Nov. 10 in Gumaca.

The 27-year-old Lacar earlier lost to Fernan Agencia of Mandaluyong by a majority decision last Aug. 3 in Mandaluyong City.

Meanwhile, featherweight Jethro “Silent Operator” Pabustan of Sarangani Province will fight Peter “Thunder” Apolinar of Laguna in the undercard.

The 30-year-old Pabustan (30W-7L-6D, 9KO) defeated Marjhun Tabamo of Butuan City by a unanimous decision last Sept. 29, 2019, in Iligan City.

Apolinar (11W-1L-0D, 8KO), on the other hand, retired Lloyd Jardeliza of Makati in the 7th round last Dec. 14, 2019, in Bogo City.

The other bouts are Christian Araneta of Cebu vs. Richard Rosales of Bohol (10 rds.-110 lbs) and Carlo Bacaro of Cebu vs. Jeffrey Stella of Mandaue (6 rds.-140 lbs). (PNA)
