42 new recoveries bring down Bataan’s active cases to 431

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The number of those who have beaten the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in this province continued to rise, with 42 new recoveries reported by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Wednesday.

This brought the total number of recoveries to 1,972 with the active cases sliding down to 431.

Governor Albert Garcia said the newly recovered are: 32 from Mariveles, four from Balanga City, three from Dinalupihan, and one each from Limay, Pilar, and Abucay.

He, however, also reported two new deaths, both female -- a 71-year-old from Limay and 53-year-old from Mariveles. These increased the number of fatalities to 45.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached 2,448 after 31 new patients were recorded.

The new cases are 16 from Morong, four each from Abucay and Dinalupihan, three from Mariveles, and one each from Balanga City, Limay, Orion, and Samal.

Out of the 22,995 who have taken Covid-19 tests, 20,202 tested negative and 345 are still waiting for results.

The governor reminded his constituents to strictly observe the minimum health protocols.

“Malaki ang papel na ginagampanan ng bawat isa sa pagsugpo sa pandemyang dulot ng Covid-19. Nasa ating mga kamay ang ating kaligtasan pati ng ating mga mahal sa buhay. Kung kaya’t patuloy po ang paalala sa lahat na isabuhay ang mga alituntuning pangkalusugan ng pamahalaan (Everyone has a big role to play in curbing the pandemic caused by Covid-19. Our protection is in our hands as well as of our loved ones. So, we keep on reminding everyone to live by the government’s health protocols),” he said. (PNA)
