No Covid-19 fatality among OFs for 3 days

MANILA – No fatality was reported among overseas Filipinos (OFs) with coronavirus disease (Covid-19) abroad, with the death toll standing at 811 for three consecutive days, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday.

It, however, recorded one new infection in the Asia Pacific, raising the case count abroad to 11,146. No new recoveries were also logged, maintaining the total at 7,184.

The active cases are currently pegged at 3,151, at least 521 are undergoing treatment in the Asia Pacific, 168 in Europe, 2,295 in the Middle East/Africa, and 167 in the Americas.

Compared to last week’s percentages, the DFA said the total number of Covid-19 fatalities and those under treatment decreased slightly to 7.28 percent and 28.72 percent, respectively.

The total number of recoveries, on the other hand, saw a slight increase to 64.45 percent.

Among the fatalities, at least 529 were recorded in the Middle East/Africa, 178 in the Americas, 95 in Europe, and nine in the Asia Pacific.

Most of the recoveries were concentrated in the Middle East/Africa region with 4,540, followed by the Asia Pacific with 1,227, Europe with 951, and the Americas with 466. (PNA
