More Covid-19 recoveries among PNP personnel

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 40 more police officers have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recoveries among its ranks to 6,276.

This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 636, based on the data the PNP Health Service released on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, 30 new infections were reported in the police force, bringing the total number of cases to 6,934.

Of the new cases, the National Capital Region Police Office has six, followed by the Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera with 5, the PRO in Eastern Visayas (PRO-8) and Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) each logged four cases, the National Administrative Support Unit and PRO 9 (the Zamboanga Peninsula) with two each while one each in the National Headquarters, the National Operational Support Units, PRO-3 (Central Luzon), PRO 4A (Calabarzon), PRO-11 (Davao Region), PRO 12 (Soccskargen) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

Meanwhile, one police officer died of the disease, raising the death toll to 22.

The latest fatality is a 55-year-old police officer from the PRO-BARMM who died on Oct. 21. (PNA)
