Zamboanga City wins Chooks 3x3 Leg 2

MANILA – Zamboanga City scored its second straight championship in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup, beating Nueva Ecija, 21-11, after the second leg at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba on Friday night.

Zamboanga City quickly went to work at the get-go, opening a 10-4 lead with 6:26 left in the final.

Nueva Ecija had a mini-run, scoring three points to draw to within 7-10 with six minutes to go, but Zamboanga City finished the job by pulling away for good, scoring the match point with 2:14 to spare.

Alvin Pasaol finished with eight points for Zamboanga City, which won PHP100,000 for the second straight time.

Santi Santillan added seven markers, while Joshua Munzon and Troy Rike contributed four and two points, respectively.

Gab Banal finished with seven points for Nueva Ecija, which will also receive PHP100,000 for being Zamboanga City's opponent in the final.

Meanwhile, David Carlos took the slam dunk contest win, while Roider Cabrera won the two-point shootout, netting them PHP10,000 each.

Leg 3 of the conference will commence on Sunday back at Inspire.
