Phoenix pulls off Q4 comeback to edge Magnolia

MANILA – Phoenix showed resilience down the stretch on Friday night, downing Magnolia, 91-84, through a fourth-quarter run in their Philippine Basketball Association game at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The Fuel Masters, down by as much as 17 points in the third quarter, outscored the Hotshots, 31-13, in the last period to steal the victory.

Matt Wright, despite his struggles from the three-point area, top-scored for Phoenix with 23 points, making 10-of-14 from inside the arc, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Jason Perkins added a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds with one assist as the team snapped a two-game slide and moved up to 3-2 in the standings.

Chris Banchero made 20 markers of his own with one rebound, one assist, and two steals for Magnolia, which lost its third straight game and fell to 1-4.

Rafi Reavis put up a double-double of 12 markers and 10 boards with one dime.
