MANILA – There will be scattered rains in most of the country on Saturday due to tropical depression (TD) Quinta and typhoon Saudel (international name).

In its daily weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of Quinta was last estimated 750 kilometers (km) east of Catarman, Northern Samar.

The TD has maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and is moving northwestward at 15 km/h.

Saudel, on the other hand, was last located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, 735 km west of Northern Luzon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, gustiness of up 150 km/h and is moving westward slowly.

Both weather systems, PAGASA said, will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

In Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte, there will be cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the frontal system—formed through the clash of opposing warm and cold air.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy and cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms.

The temperature in Metro Manila will be around 26° C to 32° C; Baguio City at 16° C to 21° C; Metro Cebu at 25° C to 31° C; Cagayan de Oro City at 24° C to 31° C; and Metro Davao at 24° C to 32° C. (PNA)
