ZAMBOANGA CITY – The local police's Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested a teenage high-value target (HVT) and seized illegal drugs with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million in a law enforcement operation in this southern port city, an official said Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) director, identified the youth as Nujib Jamjirul Sakilan, 19, a resident of Sitio Layag-Layag, Barangay Talon-Talon here, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Logoy Grande, Barangay Talon-Talon here at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cambay said Sakilan yielded some 500 grams of suspected shabu packed on 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP899,000 in "boodle money" topped with a genuine PHP1,000 bill as marked money.

He said the newly identified HVT had been under surveillance by the DEU of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Station 11 before the sting operation.

Sakilan was detained at the ZCPO Station 7, while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (PNA)
