MANILA – United City began its quest for a fourth consecutive Philippines Football League title somehow on a high note after beating the Azkals Development Team (ADT), 1-0, in the first game of the 2020 bubble season at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona on Wednesday night.

Mike Ott's lone goal off a feed from brother Manny in the 25th minute made the difference as the club formerly known as Ceres Negros got all the three points in the first of only five matches this year.

Manny found Mike free from just outside for the rocket goal that eventually won it for United City.

Manny, however, will miss United City's next match against Mendiola on Saturday as he incurred a red card late into the match after a hard foul on Simen Lyngbo.

Ott's ejection opened a chance for the ADT to at least snatch a draw, but Anthony Pinthus, who was loaned by the ADT to United City for this season, came up with huge saves down the stretch to save the match for United City. (PNA)
