Covid-19 recoveries overseas hit 7.2K: DFA

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among Filipinos abroad has reached 7,262.

On Friday, the department recorded no new fatalities but logged three new recoveries and 10 new infections in the Asia Pacific and Europe.

The death toll is at 817 while the active cases stand at 3,160.

Most of the active cases are undergoing treatment in the Middle East/Africa region (2,306), followed by the Asia Pacific (522), Europe (176), and the Americas (156).

"The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts remain steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and agencies to ensure Filipinos' awareness of and adherence to preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic, and commit to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people affected by this pandemic, whenever possible," the DFA said.
