MANILA – The United City scored the most lopsided result so far in the Philippines Football League season after drubbing Maharlika Manila, 10-0, at the PFF National Training Center on Tuesday night.

The United City, which blasted Mendiola, 6-0, on Saturday night, reset its season record with a more brilliant offensive showcase to send Maharlika Manila, which scored its breakthrough win also on Saturday, back to earth.

The bludgeoning began in the 16th minute when Bienve Marañon found Mike Ott wide open with only Henri Fong to beat to dish the assist for United City's first goal.

Marañon then joined the scoring barrage as Ott returned the favor by feeding him the ball for the 19th-minute goal.

Stephan Schrock then went to work, blitzing past the Maharlika Manila backline for a 33rd-minute strike that made it 3-0 for United City.

OJ Porteria then entered the scoreboard with a 39th-minute goal that put United City up front, 4-0.

Early into the second half, Robert Mendy received a cross from Pika Minegishi and slotted in United City's fifth goal.

Mendy quickly got his brace with a 57th-minute goal this time off a Porteria feed.

He completed his hat trick with a 63rd-minute goal that widened the gap further for United City.

Porteria then got his own brace after drilling in a 71st-minute penalty to make it 8-0.

Ott also got his brace after making it 9-0 in the 73rd minute.

Porteria eventually completed his hat trick with the final goal of the match in the 75th minute.

The United City remains perfect in the bubble season at 3-0 for nine points with two matches to play.

Maharlika Manila, on the other hand, dropped to fourth place on an inferior goal difference with the Azkals Development Team, 2-0 winner over Mendiola earlier Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Kaya Iloilo's title chase hit a crucial roadblock as Stallion Laguna held the club to a 1-1 draw.

Jhan-Jhan Melliza's 79th-minute goal canceled Jovin Bedic's 10th-minute strike as Kaya Iloilo dropped points in a crucial juncture of the short bubble season.

Kaya Iloilo remains in second place with seven points with two matches left. (PNA)
