PNP coronavirus recoveries now 6.8K

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reported that 76 more police officers have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recoveries among its ranks to 6,862.

This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 439, based on data released by the PNP Health Service on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the PNP logged 24 new infections, bringing the total number of cases to 7,324.

Of the new cases, the National Operational Support UnitS have five, followed by Police Regional Offices in Calabarzon (PRO-4A) PRO-3 (Central Luzon) with four each, PRO-6 (Western Visayas) with three, two each in the National Administration Operational Units, and PRO Cordillera, and one each in the National Capital Region Police Office, PRO-2 (Cagayan Valley), PRO-7 (Central Visayas), and PRO-9 (Zamboanga Peninsula).

The PNP's Covid-19 death toll stands at 23.

Cops who tested positive for Covid-19 observe a 14-day quarantine and undergo another test.

Once cleared, they have to rest for seven to 10 more days before returning to duty. (PNA)
